To help your child succeed with the MCAS ELA testing:

  • Please have your child attend school and arrive on time (8:25 AM) during the testing period.
  • Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and has a healthy breakfast.
  • On testing days we are encouraging students to bring water and a healthy snack. Research has indicated that students who drink water and eat fruit 15-30 minutes before testing have optimal levels for memory and attention. Also, we will have breaks in the AM for students during testing.
At 2:40 pm walkers and grade 1 pick-up students will be dismissed.
At 2:45 pm bus students and students in grades 2 through 5 pick-ups will be dismissed.

MCAS Rally
Charlton St. School held an MCAS pep rally on Friday, March 20.  The Peer Leadership Group presented short plays to encourage students to do their best on the test. Students in grades 3-5 joined in sing-a-longs, answered questions for prizes, and listened to suggestions on how to get a score of 240 (proficient) or higher on the MCAS.  Bust that test students! Pictured below are the members of the Peer Leadership Group.
